Meet
my wife Sharon, AKA "VA Hiker." She is
an intelligent, curious person who aspires to spiritual growth
through nature's attributes, writing poetry and hiking with me...
her soul mate and husband. She loves meeting people from all over
the world to share and exchange ideas, growing in her endeavors to
accept all cultures on our planet. Sharon started hiking back in the
late seventies in Pennsylvania with a group of enthusiastic friends.
She frequented
Ricketts Glen State Park because of its beautiful
cascading water falls. Ricketts Glen State Park is one of the most
scenic areas in Pennsylvania. This large park is comprised of 13,050
acres in Luzerne, Sullivan and Columbia counties. Now residing in
Southwest Virginia, Sharon knows there is much more beauty to be
discovered. The Blue Ridge Mountains are indeed breathtaking and can
be very challenging when hiking and exploring its many diverse
trails. This is a challenge Sharon is willing to pursue as she once
again hits the trails of her life, experiencing our Mother Earth's
bounty and beauty.
Meet Bess and
Jody (my mother and sister)...
As a fit, active, young-minded senior, Bess (on the
right) takes the mountains in stride! She trekked over 50 miles in
2003, many
of them rated strenuous. She's been to Mc Afee's Knob and most of
the trails at Pandapas Pond.
Jody is a hiking equipment fanatic.
She's got it all, including a first aid kit that would knock your
socks off (she let LuAnn and I borrow it for the Inca Trail...
fortunately we didn't have to use it!). Jody hiked over 30 miles
in 2003 and is a frequent visitor at REI in Cary, NC. Would you
expect anything less?
Meet
our friend,
LuAnn. She shares our
enthusiasm and love of the out-of-doors experience and is especially
fond of hiking the A.T. For LuAnn, hiking is a stimulating,
multi-sensory experience that connects her with the present and
helps keep her centered and well-grounded mentally and spiritually.
She also
enjoys other outdoor activities including biking, hunting, fishing,
camping, sky-diving, bungee-jumping, kayaking, rafting, etc.
Basically, if it's an adventure - count her in! LuAnn is married to
her sweetheart, Allen. |
